HEY! I’M TRUDI…
A few years ago, I found myself in a season of life where things looked settled on paper, but I knew there was still more ahead. My husband Robert and I had relocated to Far North Queensland after many years in Mount Isa, stepping into retirement and a slower pace, with more room for family, travel and the things we love.
We enjoy life in our little pocket of the world - camping adventures in our van, fishing trips, time with our son, his family and our growing number of grandchildren. I’m also writing my memoirs and diving into family history research, something I’ve always loved. Life was full, yet I felt a quiet pull for something purposeful that was still mine to build. I wasn’t done growing. I was ready for a new chapter.
When you find your North Star again, life expands in beautiful ways.
THE CAREER THAT SHAPED ME: For close to twenty years, I worked in maintenance planning in the mining industry - a demanding environment, high pressure, long hours and very much a world where you had to back yourself. It challenged me, stretched me and built a resilience I’m grateful for. I loved the complexity of the work and took enormous pride in what I achieved, but like many careers, it came with highs and lows.
There were periods of real fulfilment, while others left me drained. Eventually I reached a point where I knew I needed something new. Not because my career had failed me, but because I had changed. I wanted challenge, yes, but also freedom, growth and something I could shape on my own terms.
WHEN A NEW POSSIBILITY APPEARED: I had always worked within large organisations and never really pictured myself as someone who would own a business. But one day, quite unexpectedly, I came across an opportunity that stirred my curiosity. What drew me in was not only the business model, but the support, the community and the Personal Development at its core. It felt aligned in a way I hadn’t expected.
And in many ways, it felt like coming home. Personal growth had played a role in different seasons of my life, and returning to it at a deeper level reawakened something in me. Around the same time, after losing my father, I heard a message about finding your North Star again, and it landed deeply. It felt like a turning point. A reminder that new directions can emerge at any stage of life.

BUILDING SOMETHING FOR THIS NEXT CHAPTER: Today I’m building a business that fits around the life we’ve created, while expanding what feels possible for the years ahead. My little motto is “My plan is to flourish…” and that’s exactly how I see this season. Not slowing down but expanding in a new way.
I love that this path allows room for ambition and simplicity - for travel, family, purpose, and perhaps even that bigger boat my husband jokes about. Most of all, I love that I am still growing. Still learning. Still becoming.
